It sound rather abstract - "Dart Manipulation", but it is quite important if you would like to "get in control" of your patterns.
You bought a nice top pattern, but don't like the position of the dart or would rather have seam lines instead.
Or the skirt pattern you had for ages - you would just like it to be a little bit fuller without any darts.
If you know how manipulate darts, all of above alterations can be done.
One of the most important aspects of dart manipulation is about learning two basic techniques - the slashing and the pivoting method. In almost all professional pattern cutting courses these methods are taught in the first year.
In one of our free lessons we will introduce you to one of these methods - this will be at a later stage of the course, however, after you have completed the other basic "tools of the trade".
Happy Pattern Cutting!
