Task 1: Sewing a pair of trousers for men
A not to challenging task with regards to the assembly - a rather simpler way of sewing trousers would be to join the centre front of the front patterns and centre back of the back patterns first, then join the side seams and the inside leg seams!
More difficult was the insertion of the fly front zip, which is a difficult sewing detail - a good sewing book with detailed instructions and drawings would have helped (but was probably not allowed!). Some of the contestants were lucky to wear trousers with that detail!
Task 2: Creating patch pockets for a skirt
Some of the ideas were really nice - the most relaxed part of the two episodes so far!
Task 3: Creating a shirt/blouse according to individual measurements
Not the easiest task, as blouses and shirts require a lot of sewing skills already - collars, cuffs, openings and much more - plus fitting a commercial blouse pattern to individual body measurements. A stretch for a professional in the given time frame - so some of the results were actually very good!
